My name is Paige, I got this tattoo by Adam Newton (Noodles) at the Painted Lotus Victoria BC.

I gave him my design and he went crazy with what I came up with and it ended up being 10 times better than the original idea.

It’s a tattoo based on the Br’er Rabbit of Fables the graphic novel series. Later I’m going to get a quote tattooed saying “Don’t worry ‘about me, I can take care of myself.” Which is a quote from Br’er Rabbit, and it was so fitting to the tattoo. I absolutely love this tattoo, it took 2 sittings. The first sitting was about 4 hours and the second was 2 hours. This was my first tattoo, the wrist hurts but not a great deal of pain.

Informative, no sob story, nice ink.

I do but I’m slow at work. One might argue that YOU don’t have much better to do… calling people names on the internet, taking time out of your significant life to anonymously message some cunt on tumblr, capitalizing insignificant words in a sentence.

If you don’t like it, ignore it. If people would stop writing me fan mail I might forget this tumblr existed. Got this today, my third tattoo. Each of the flowers has a different meaning each with significance to me. The gerber daisy happiness/cheerfulness, and the hydrangeas mean friendship. The amaryllis means sheer beauty but I also added that flower for my grandma. She grows them every Christmas season and they are truly beautiful.

Done at Berlin Tattoo in Kitchener, ON. By Colin. One of the best artists I have seen in my area at least.

I got this done by Gwen Gersich at Formula Ink tattoo shop in Ft. Lauderdale. I’ve had the idea of getting a sugar skull for quite a while. I stumbled upon this tattoo shop after the LIGHTS! show at a venue next door. I went in and talked to the lady at the front desk. She told me she was does a special every march. Any tattoo fifty to one-hundred dollars! I then made an appointment right away and talked to her about how I wanted my tattoo(: About a week and a half later I got it done. Gwen did a beautiful job<3

One of the very few times where you didn’t get botched while you were looking for a good deal. Cool execution, nobody cares if you wanted a sugar skull for “quite a while,” it doesn’t give you cool points.

To be fair, I do think your tattoo is gorgeous. I think the line quality is great, the colors are complimentary, the composition is smooth and I think the execution is fantastic and you are rightly proud of that piece of art. I do however get overwhelmingly frustrated with the shit people say about their tattoo’s. So, please know that I’m not attacking the art, just what you wrote about it.

Hi, just wanted to express my sentiments about your "tattoo experience" post. Firstly, go fuck yourself and secondly, go fuck yourself. Also, the fact that I sing in a band and speak out about my beliefs both coincide with a microphone. For singing, it's obvious, but microphones are used to broadcast activism. Meaning: this one is for my mom (who got the same thing on her shoulder). It’s her favorite flower and the state flower. It symbolizes California as well as my mom being my home. The lady bug is a thing between my mom and I when I was little, I was her ladybug. The main flower with the lady bug on it is my mom, I’m the one on the left, and (I don’t think I’ve ever told anyone this part but) the closed one is for my big brother. My mom had a miscarriage years before I came around and she wanted to make it a family tattoo and include him too. I absolutely love it and couldn’t have asked for more. Before people get all self righteous with their tight panties and opinions and shit, let’s just get one thing out of the way: I’m not discounting what you feel your shit is about.

You got your tattoo because of “x” and this is my opinion about your usually convoluted, unnecessary, and poorly written experience.

Everybody who submits their tattoo to a tattoo blog or website obviously likes or loves their ink, they usually think their artist was “awesome” and “great,” and they would probably recommend said tattooist to “everyone because they’re so awesome.” That on top of this strange need for people to seek validation from others in a giant convoluted story just makes me cringe… And in fact, most stories and descriptions feel like they are an afterthought to the actual tattoo. What’s worse is that same validation where people feel like they need to add “I’ve been wanting this forever” as if they had the idea first and everyone else is just biting their style.

I’ve come up with this basic math equation for aggravating tattoo descriptions: the longer the time in the seat, the more convoluted the story.

In the end: nobody really cares why you picked the color blue to symbolize the first time you bathed your cat in the kitchen sink, or that you’ve wanted this band tattoo since before the first album from said band was released, and really… nobody really wants to hear about how this tattoo is your first “but not the last.”

My first tattoo, designed by myself, freshly done. Inspired by vampire glyphs/kryptonian writing.

Within each glyph is an initial of mine in Morse code. Each one also represents my present, past, future, and family and friends, respectively. It serves as a constant reminder that in whatever I do, never to allow others’ judgments of me to affect how I act, to always keep moving forward no matter what obstacles present themselves, to remember the past and learn from it, and to keep in mind the important people that have come and gone from my life at all times and remind myself that they are where I draw my strength and inspiration from.
