March 19th, 2012 - My 20th birthday.
I always thought that tattoos like this were kind of mindless. I never understood why anyone would ever get a matching tattoo with their significant other, or even their name, until I met Matthew. We share a special connection that I don’t think many people get to experience. He’s my literal soul mate. We share the same interests, the same opinions, and scary enough the exact same thought process. He knows what I’m thinking before I say it, and vice versa. He knows how to make me happy, how to calm me down, and how to pull me out of a dark place. He’s incredibly supportive, and would do anything for me, just like I would do anything for him. He understands me, and everything I have ever been through. Our love is like no other, and I am very thankful to have him in my life. This tattoo represents our dedication to one another, and that he has me forever. I will never leave him, and this tattoo proves just that. Matthew Auretta, you will forever, and always, hold the key to my heart. I love you so much, please never forget that.

I would never do X, but this time it’s special.
My problem with relationship tattoo’s isn’t the ultimate demise of such relationship and the regret one will hold with the love fades away, I also suppose a lock and key are easier to deal with versus names in old English with hearts and sparrows… But it’s the age at which people get these tattoos. At 20 I thought I had it all figured out, and at 27 I realize I’m just now figuring out what is REALLY important and that my relationship then had a lot of maturing to do.
So really, if you have it all figured out… Why not wait a couple years for a couple tattoo? Why not get tattoo’s together, holding hands, but separate designs… Like marriage. If you’re going to be together forever (which is unlikely) then what’s the difference between doing it now and waiting a couple years? Hmmm?
Welcome to my blog… a place for me to vent about the stupid shit I read on FuckyeahTattoos… There’s nothing more disappointing than an awesome tattoo with a shitty, afterthought sob story with little to no actual correlation between the ink and the person.
